Project Description

A factory reborn as neighbourhood.

EuroMilano has decided to revitalise the former Cartiere Binda, a historical paper factory started in 1840 on the banks of Naviglio Pavese , closed down in 1997. The new settlement mainly residential, with buildings aligned along Naviglio Pavese, also includes traditional activities, a green area equipped with sport grounds, parking facilities and an infant school.

Public and private open spaces are connected with Alzaia and historical buildings, with private and public green equipped spaces, located along South Lambro river.

The green spaces, among which a public apark of about 60,000 sqm, is the element linking public and private areas in a whole system of walking and cycling paths.

 

Colours and nature. A new infant school near the Naviglio.

Within a redevelopment plan whose important aim was also to realize works of social interest, a new Infant School has risen, which comply with the highest environmental sustainability values. The infant School large premises ensure the enjoyment of its green spaces and enable the children have outdoor learning experience.
